Savoring 2023, get creative before the year’s end

I almost can’t believe that 2023 is already coming to a close. The studio has grown and developed so beautifully since opening our doors in December 2022, it’s hard to believe that a year has flown by already!

That being said, there are lots of exciting new activities planned before the year comes to a close.

Wheel Classes are on!

Various dates.

Sam, the owner and founder of Mango in a Pot, will be teaching small group wheel throwing classes! Her classes are always a delight, with her main focus being that you learn in a calm, supportive and relaxing environment. In addition to Sam’s classes, Rowan, a professional potter from South Africa will be in studio offering classes on Mondays and Tuesdays. With class sizes only going up to 3 people, wheel lessons are intimate and targeted, making sure you get exactly what you need out of the lessons.

There are various workshop dates before the years end. Refer to the workshop calendar to learn more.

Glaze an abandoned creation

November 9th, 5:30-7pm and December 15th, 5:30-7pm

As it happens at every ceramic studio, some handmade pieces get left behind or forgotten by their creators. At Mango in a Pot we have a strict “no art gets wasted” policy and we have been making it a habit to adopt these unwanted masterpieces. Now is your chance to have a look into the studio “shelter” and adopt your very own creation. You will learn glazing technique during the session and will be able to take your new companion home after it gets fired in the kiln.

Pottery Date Night

November 11th, 5:30-7:30pm and December 16th, 5:30-7:30pm

Get your hands dirty with clay while connecting with your significant other. We will host two saturday date nights at the studio before the year’s end. With natural wine, snacks and great vibes you’re sure to walk away with a smile (and a beautiful clay creation).

Mango’s Christmas Market

December 10th, 12-5pm

The market of the year! Mango in a Pot’s studio community is coming together to bring you a holiday handmade ceramics market. The market will run all day outside the studio where you can expect to find beautiful handmade ceramic art, homemade cookies and hot coco on tap! It’s sure to be a great spot to buy some gifts for family and friends. RSVP with the link above :)

Only 2 Handbuilding Workshops left before the end of 2023!

November 18th, 12-2pm and December 9th, 11-1pm

Tap into your mind-body connection through working with your hands. Mango handbuilding workshops are a time to tune out the outside world and tune into your inner child, healing the heart through creative movement. We will begin the session with a grounding meditation and you will have the opportunity to create one or more ceramic objects. It’s great to come with an idea in mind, or be inspired by the moment, whatever works best for you!
