(Gently) Starting the New Year
It seems my side of social media has decided that the dead of winter is a poor time to make resolutions and set goals.
I can’t say I disagree, as temperatures outside remain at a constant sub-zero, it feels like my internal fire is burning solely for survival, less so to fuel an entire year’s worth of intention. That being said, I think this time of the year is better suited for self-reflection, creative expression and relaxation. The line-up for January and February workshops has been intentionally crafted to help us get through these cold and dark days with ease. After all, creative expression and community are the best remedy for the winter chill. A heart-warmer if you will.
Cozy up with someone warm
With chilly days coming and going, it’s a great idea to get cozy with those around us. Mango in a Pot is hosting it’s 3rd edition of the Pottery Date Night. This is a night for lovers, to get intimate with each other and creative with the clay. Expect a cozy glowing atmosphere, unlimited wine refills, and homemade snacks. The workshop is created for couples to strengthen their connection and their creative confidence together. You will be led through a series of exercises before touching clay that will open your body and mind to higher creativity. It’s sure to be another great edition of Date Night!
Try your hands at the wheel
Our weekly wheel classes are coming back on the 22nd of Jan! Anna will guide students through a hands-on, comprehensive wheel lesson that is adapted to the skill level of the students. She has a gentle touch when it comes to teaching, letting you make mistakes when you need to and always providing support when appropriate. Her classes have become so popular that they are almost entirely sold out for January and already filling up in February! So make sure you book in soon if you’re interested.
Yoga + Pottery is back!
Our beloved Yoga + Pottery workshop is back on February 11th! Join us for a yoga class focused on igniting our creative fire, followed by a handbuilding session where you will be encouraged to channel your newly awakened creative energy into the clay. The last two editions of this workshop have been such a success that we are bringing it back. We will practice at a yoga studio right around the corner from Mango, where mats and props are provided. We will then venture back to the studio for a mindful creative workshop. Tea and snacks will also be freely offered to all!
Valentine’s Day is for lovers
We are hosting a date night workshop on Valentine’s day for couples looking to celebrate their love in a creative and intentional setting. Last year’s Valentine’s workshop was such a success that we are really looking forward to recreating it this year! We thought of everything from the playlist to the candles, natural wine and the works. It’s sure to be an evening filled with love, laughter and most importantly, creative expression!
A final note from the editor
On behalf of the studio, we wish you a soft, gentle and kind winter. Now is not the time to punish yourself for your holiday season indulgences or commit to a 5am morning routine. Take it easy, it will all work itself out and rest and recovery is all you really need. Once the ice starts to melt and the leaves start to grow back on trees, it will be time to spring into action, as the approaching season suggests. For now, we must stay patient, calm and turn our focus inwards to figure out how to truly serve ourselves and our community.
